Trapped inside a Rubik's Cube-like world, solving puzzles from the inside out

Formerly codenamed C3Anomaly 1729 is indie game studio Anvil Drop's debut title: a puzzle platformer currently under development and powered by Unreal Engine 4 technology.

In Anomaly 1729, you play as Ano, a curious robot desperately trying to understand the abstract world he inhabits. Guide Ano through a journey of self-discovery to learn the true origins of his creation, his purpose for being, and if there exists other life out there in this strange new world.

Guide Ano on a journey of self-discovery and learn to manipulate the ever-changing world of Phiohm.

  • Experiment with Ano’s ability to manipulate objects around you while trying to find your path through this unusual place.
  • Rotate your world in order to solve mind-warping three-dimensional puzzles.
  • Explore the depths of Phiohm to uncover the secrets of its past while you shape its future.
  • Experience a uniquely dynamic soundtrack that builds upon itself as you explore your way through Phiohm.
  • Feast your eyes on a strikingly abstract and colorful art style.

Powered by Unreal Engine 4

We wanted Anomaly 1729 to have a striking visual style, using a lot of dynamic lighting, high end material and particle effects, and a lot of moving geometry. We also needed a simple but powerful way to script all of the systems in the game. Unreal Engine 4 met all of these needs, providing high performance dynamic lighting and material instances, an easy to use yet powerful visual scripting system in Blueprint, and many other tools we needed to bring Phiohm to life..
